    Analog Fox Super Fuzz (Univox Super-Fuzz Clone) (AFSUPERFUZZ)

    Super Fuzz (Univox Super-Fuzz Clone)

    The first Super-Fuzzes were made in 1968 by Univox, and production continued until the late 70s.

    Made famous by such bands as Beastie Boys, Fu Manchu, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nirvana.

    The controls are:

    1) Expander (controls fuzz level);

    2) Balance (controls volume level).

    There are two unique features of this device that set it apart from other distortion and fuzz pedals:

    The first is that the full-wave rectification of the circuit produces an upper octave as well as a slight lower octave. This also gives the sound a lot of compression and gives a mild ring modulator effect.

    The second unique feature is a tone footswitch that engages a 1kHz filter that "scoops" the mids, giving a very fat, almost bassy tone, unique to this circuit.

    Analog Fox Tone Machine Fuzz/Octave Pedal (AFTONEMACHINE)

    Analog Fox Tone Machine Fuzz/Octave Pedal

    Tone Machine
    (Foxx Tone Machine Clone)

    Tone Machine is a clone of Foxx Tone Machine, which was produced in 70s.

    The pedal is a thick sounding fuzz with lots of gain and a footswitch that allows to add an upper octave to the sound.

    The controls are:

    1) Susttain – sets amount of distortion (sustain);

    2) Tone – filters out high or low frequencies;

    3) Volume – sets the output volume.

    This circuit was used by artists ranging from ZZ Top to Adrian Belew, Parliament-Funkadelic to Peter Frampton. Its legacy has lived on as a new generation of artists (Nine Inch Nails, Beck) has discovered the fat-backed, fuzzed-out sound that pedal screams.

    We use 2n2222 transistors and 1n34a diodes for the Tone Machine.
