The OVERDRIVE CLIPPER is a dual 12AX7 tube pedal preamplifier (amp in a box) designed to mimic classic Dumbly tones. It is not a copy or clone, but rather a completely re-thought and re-designed circuit, intended to surpass the original. The COLOR control provides equalization identical to rock mode at noon, while duplicating Robben Ford settings when minimized. A LIFT switch pulls this control out of circuit, providing a 10dB boost in gain. The DRIVE control adjusts gain to compensate for various pickups (single-coil, humbucker). The CLIP switch enables the high-gain section, which utilizes my all-tube symmetric clipper circuit, offering up what I believe to be superior performance. This is followed by another tilt TONE control and output LEVEL.

This pedal is ideally employed as a preamplifier feeding a power amplifier directly via effects loops return. It can also be used as a regular pedal, but try to keep tone controls on amplifier as close to flat as possible, or engage LIFT switch.
